Dr. Nathan Payant makes his conducting debut at Carnegie Hall

Colorado State University music professor, Dr. Nathan Payant, makes his conducting debut at Carnegie Hall in New York, as a MidAmerica Productions featured conductor on Saturday, April 13, 2024.

Payant will conduct Dan Forrest’s Lux: The Dawn From On High with the New England Symphonic Ensemble, distinguished soloists, and a chorus comprised of members from the three ensembles he conducts, including the CSU Concert Choir, First Methodist Church, and Laudamus Chamber Chorale.

What makes it even more special is I get to share the stage with many of my current and former students, as well as more wonderful singers from other ensembles I conduct in Fort Collins.”

About Dr. Payant

As an instructor of music at CSU, Payant directs the Concert Choir and teaches Conducting, Voice Skills for Music Therapists, Foundations of Music Education, and Music Appreciation. He is a dedicated advocate for choral music education and places special emphasis on encouraging lifelong singing. In his programming, Payant promotes standards of the choral repertoire, as well as discovering and supporting newly composed works.

In addition to his work at CSU, Payant is artistic director of Laudamus Chamber Chorale, and director of music and arts for the First Methodist Church in Fort Collins, Colorado.
