Volunteers needed to paint new mural celebrating community

Painters working on mural

A new mural project celebrating Colorado State University and community diversity is in need of some helping hands.

Beginning July 17 through July 26, volunteers are needed to help paint a new mural designed by Northern Colorado artist Armando Silva that celebrates the location’s vibrant community.

Part of a joint project between CSU’s Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Arts Advocacy and the Public Institute and the City of Fort Collins, the mural will be installed on the north wall of the Housing Services Center, 1624 W. Plum St., in Fort Collins. The location was chosen for its central location to housing for international students and the larger Fort Collins community.

No experience necessary

Volunteers will work in two-hour shifts. No previous painting experience is necessary. Students from CSU’s LEAP Institute for the Arts will be on site to provide guidance.
